For almost a full year, I’ve shared mostly travel and personal film on this blog. So, you’d be forgiven if you forgot or didn’t know that I’m a full-time newspaper photographer.
In my next few blog posts, starting with this one, I’ll share some of my favorite stories and work from 2016. First up is my first-ever Good Friday street procession:

The street procession followed the first nine of the 14-step Stations of the Cross, from Jesus’s being condemned to death through his falling with the cross for the third time, with the remaining stations taking place inside the church. The procession was performed almost entirely in Spanish, and was followed by a Spanish-language Good Friday service.
